The Stakeholder Consultation Workshop in North Africa took place on the 28th of October 2013, in Rabat, Morocco, at the Hôtel la Tour Hassan Palace. The event was organized within the framework of the project “BETTER - Bringing Europe and Third countries closer together through renewable Energies”, supported by the “Intelligent Energy Europe” programme.
This workshop was a unique opportunity for intense knowledge sharing and networking with key stakeholders in the region of North Africa. The main objectives of this one-day workshop were the following:
- Present and discuss the preliminary results of the BETTER project and, in particular, of the North Africa Case Study.
- Have an overview of the current and expected contribution of the RES-E in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt including their view on RES-E towards Europe.
- Have a join discussion about the required framework, opportunities and barriers associated to the implementation of Article 9 in the North Africa region.
